From March 25 to 27, 2026, the Chemfine International team took part in COATING KOREA 2026, held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, South Korea — the country’s premier industry event for coating raw materials, formulation technology, and sustainable coating solutions. As a global supplier of full-line specialty chemical raw materials for the coatings industry, this exhibition was a key opportunity for us to deepen our connections with long-standing Korean partners, meet new industry peers, and showcase our complete product portfolio tailored for coating formulations.

What we took away from the three-day event was far more than just business leads — it was a reaffirmation of the trust our partners place in us, and a reminder that the strongest business relationships start with genuine, face-to-face connection, even when we’re bridging language and distance barriers.

We arrived at Incheon International Airport on March 24, one day ahead of the COATING KOREA 2026 opening, and were immediately greeted by our long-term local Korean client. Instead of heading straight to the hotel to prepare for the show, they took us to Gyeongbokgung, a renowned local Korean restaurant near the exhibition venue, for an authentic welcome meal. This first taste of Korean hospitality set the tone for the entire trip — it was a moment to connect beyond business cards and product specifications, and to share a meal with people we’ve worked with for years, but were finally able to meet in person.

After lunch, we visited the Songdo Convensia exhibition center to finalize our booth setup, ensuring we were ready to showcase our full range of specialty chemical raw materials tailored for the coatings industry, including: Biocide, Flame Retardant, Photoinitiator, Monomers, Polyether Amine, Polypropylene Glycol, UV Stabilizers, Solvent, Electronic-grade Solvent, and Fluoride Chemicals. Every product on display was selected to address the most pressing formulation needs of Korean coating manufacturers, from anti-corrosion and flame retardancy to UV curing system stability and sustainable formulation solutions.

Over the first two days of COATING KOREA 2026, our booth was busy with a steady stream of visitors — from long-term clients we’ve supported for years via remote collaboration, to R&D managers from Korea’s top coating manufacturers, to emerging formulators looking for reliable, high-quality raw material suppliers.

Each conversation was a valuable opportunity: we walked through technical specifications and application cases for our full product line, discussed formulation challenges that local manufacturers were facing, and shared insights into global sustainable coating trends that are shaping the industry. Many of our existing clients brought their technical teams to the booth, to dive deep into custom solutions for their upcoming 2026 product launches, and to align on supply chain plans for the year ahead. It was incredibly rewarding to see how our products and technical support have helped their businesses grow, and to hear their feedback directly.

Amid the busy schedule of COATING KOREA 2026, there was one moment that stood out above all else, and that we will carry with us for a long time. On the final day of the exhibition, before the show officially closed, a new client arrived at our booth early in the morning — and told us he had driven four full hours from his manufacturing facility in the southern part of Korea, just to meet with us face to face.

Prior to the show, we had only communicated with this client online, discussing his formulation needs for coating raw materials, and he had not yet placed an order with us. With language barriers between us, we communicated smoothly with the help of a translator, walking through his specific formulation challenges, the performance requirements for his products, and how our Biocide, Flame Retardant, UV Stabilizers and other core products could support his production goals. He told us he had researched our company and product line extensively, and wanted to make the trip to meet our team in person, to build trust and lay the foundation for a long-term partnership.

This is the heart of what we do at Chemfine. It’s not just about selling chemical raw materials — it’s about building partnerships that matter, and being a supplier that our clients can trust, even from thousands of miles away. That four-hour drive from a new client, who took the time and effort to meet us before the show closed, was a humbling reminder of the impact of showing up in person, and the value of genuine connection in our industry.

Each evening after COATING KOREA 2026 closed for the day, our local clients took us to experience the best of Korean cuisine and culture — a perfect way to unwind after a busy day on the show floor, and to deepen our relationships outside of a formal business setting. We shared authentic Korean barbecue at a local restaurant favored by the coatings industry community, where we laughed and talked about everything from global market trends to our favorite travel experiences. On our final night in Korea, they took us for classic Korean fried chicken, a beloved local staple, to celebrate a successful exhibition.

These meals were more than just food — they were a chance to connect as people, not just as supplier and client. We learned about Korean business culture, shared stories about our respective teams, and built a level of trust that can only come from spending time together, beyond the confines of an exhibition booth.

As COATING KOREA 2026 closed on March 27, we left Songdo Convensia with a full notebook of new partnership opportunities, a deeper understanding of the Korean coatings market, and hearts full of gratitude for our clients — both long-term partners and new connections. The event was a resounding success for our team, with three key takeaways:
